ABOUT THE PRACTICE.

Millimetre Studio is an architecture practice that specialises in the design of tiny homes and micro architecture. When working with limited spaces, we need to take a design approach that requires the architect to truly understand the client's needs. We provide a valuable personal service so that we can produce the best results.

Millimetre Studio offers high quality, purposeful design that maximises

efficiency of space with minimal compromise on lifestyle.

CORE PRINCIPLES.

When designing tiny homes and micro apartments, there a many factors that need to be considered to produce spaces that offer the same quality of living as larger homes. Below are three core principles that Millimetre Studio considers on every project. Take a look at the Ideas Page for more design principles and inspiration.

1.

KNOW YOUR LIFESTYLE.

Going micro doesn't mean that you need to compromise on how you live. Great design comes from understanding your lifestyle and developing a solution that works alongside it, or even better enhances it. By identifying the key aspects of how you live, spaces can be arranged to prioritise these functions.

2.

EFFICIENT FUNCTIONALITY.

To make the most out of the limited space you have, maximising functionality with the items you own can make a space work twice as hard. Designs that serve multiple purposes can reduce the number individual objects in your homes leaving you with more open flexible space to do the activities you want.

3.

EVERY

MILLIMETRE COUNTS.

When working with tiny spaces, every millimetre is crucial. Spaces must be designed in 3 dimensions.

Walls, floors and ceilings are areas that offer opportunities to maximise functionality, with many activities happening above one another as well as next to each other. Fully utilising the space available means less waste and therefore less compromise in how you live.
